There ist an opportunity at the Institute of Geoscience, Mineralogy and Geochemistry at the
University of Freiburg, Germany.
The Institute of Geoscience, Mineralogy and Geochemistry at the University of Freiburg, Germany, is seeking applicants for a 3 + 3 year research fellow position (C1) in mineralogy, petrology or geochemistry. Starting date is April 2009. The appointment is initially for three
years and extension for three more years is possible following review.

Applicants are expected to have completed their doctoral degree at the time of appointment and to have demonstrable research experience in mineralogy, petrology or geochemistry. Re-search collaboration with current faculty members is expected and research interests should be in
one of the following fields: mineralogy, metamorphic petrology, low-temperature geo-chemistry and water-rock interaction.

Responsibilities will include conducting and publishing results of basic or applied research, development of both individual and collaborative research programs and teaching selected courses within the curriculum of the institute (four hours per week). Expertise in one or more of the following analytical techniques is desirable: EMPA, XRF, XRD, AAS, IC, fluid-inclusion analysis, CL.
